Ressler and Dave Turo-Shields are qualified administrators of a powerful career test package which includes The Campbell™ Interest and Skill Survey® (CISS®), a Campbell Development Survey from Pearson Assessments and the Keirsey™ Temperament Sorter®-II (KTS-II). The Campbell Interest and Skills Survey career test measures self-reported vocational interests and skills while the Keirsey Temperament Sorter surveys temperament and character which assists an individual in finding a career or job that is well suited to their personality.  Both surveys are done in a package and administered over the internet.

The Campbell™ Interest and Skill Survey® (CISS®) ), which measures self-reported vocational interests and aptitudes is similar to traditional interest assessments. The CISS career test reflects an individual's attraction for specific occupational areas. However, the CISS instrument goes beyond traditional assessments by adding parallel skill scales that provide estimates of an individual's confidence in his or her ability to perform various occupational activities. Together, the two types of scales provide more comprehensive, richer data than interest scores alone.

The CISS® career test instrument focuses on careers that require post-secondary education and is most appropriate for use with individuals who are college bound or college educated.

It can be useful in:

 

  • Exploring new aptitudes in career development. With the CISS instrument, students and adults learn how their likes, dislikes, and self-reported skills compare to those of individuals who are happily and successfully employed in a variety of occupations.
  • Pinpointing through assessment, areas of academic study that can build skills and, as a result, increase career options.
  • Helping individuals to find occupations or vocations that help meet their psychological needs.
  • Assisting employees who have been displaced by organizational restructuring and are faced with a job transition.

The Keirsey™ Temperament Sorter®-II (KTS-II) is a 70-question personality instrument that places individuals into one of a possible four Temperaments and one out of sixteen possible personality types (Character). According to Keirsey’s Temperament Theory, people can be sorted into 4 Temperaments (Artisans, Guardians, Rationals, Idealists).

Each of Keirsey’s four Temperamental aptitudes can then be further divided into four Temperament Variants or, which Keirsey refers to as, "Character." The KTS-II uses four scales to determine both Temperament and Character classifications. The four scales detect a respondent’s preference for Expressive versus Attentive, Observant versus Introspective, Tough-Minded versus Friendly and Scheduled versus Probing.

"Temperament is a configuration of inclinations, while character is a configuration of habits. Character is disposition, temperament pre-disposition. Thus, for example, foxes are predisposed-born-to raid hen houses, beavers to dam up streams, dolphins to affiliate in close-knit schools, and owls to hunt alone in the dark. Each type of creature, unless arrested in its maturation by an unfavorable environment, develops the habit appropriate to its temperament: stealing chickens, building dams, nurturing companions, or hunting at night. Thus temperament is the inborn form of human nature; character, the emergent form, which develops through the interaction of temperament and environment.
